In January of 2023, Jana Duggar — along with her twin brother John David — celebrates her 33rd birthday.
Jana and John David have a lot in common, but unlike many of her other siblings, Jana has chosen to remain single rather than marry and start a family at a young age.
Obviously, 33 isn’t old by any means, but the Duggar women are raised to believe that reproduction is their primary reason for being.
So with the simple act of remaining celibate, Jana is completely rejecting one of her parents’ most strongly held beliefs.
And since Duggar women typically aren’t allowed to leave the house until they’re married, Jana stayed under her parents’ roof until she was in her thirties.
However, contrary to popular belief, it looks like Jana still isn’t living with her gym buddies Bob and Michelle, or sharing a room with her youngest sisters, as she has for most of her life. Did it for
But she hasn’t flown too far from the nest either.
Earlier this week, we learned that Jana has moved out of her parents’ house — in fact, it looks like she took her leave a while back.

“Strange. Jana moved out two years ago,” remarked the unnamed brother when Joy asked about her eldest sister’s living situation.
But before you get too excited, it looks like Jan is still on her parents’ estate – and possibly under their thumb.
“Jan moved into a smaller house behind the Big House on his property. She hasn’t really moved out, she just has her own space,” a source close to the situation told Joy.
“Anyone who claims Jan moved out is lying. It’s hard to barely move out when you live in a tiny house on your father’s property.”
In the Duggar-centric corners of the internet, there has been much speculation about how Jinger’s domineering father may feel about her decision to leave the nest.
If we had to guess, we’d say she’s totally fine with it.
In fact, the settlement was probably his idea.
In this way, Jim Bob provides a modicum of personal freedom while using his adult daughter as a source of independent labor.
Jana is still a caretaker and homeschool teacher for her youngest siblings, running what seems to be a round-the-clock affair.
So you can be sure that Jim Bob wouldn’t be supportive if Jana had to give up the family fortune entirely.
If she were to marry he might support such a move – but only if one of her younger sisters was old enough to take on the role of family nanny,
