Zach Shallcross doesn’t have the most dynamic personality.
So, we would imagine that’s why so few people are watching The Bachelor this season.
But the single stud Muffin made a surprise move on Monday night that may have people buzzing and producers hopefully curious about what she plans to do next.
Let’s run down the main takeaways from the latest episode, shall we?
After a one-on-one date with Katy (which included the pair spending the night at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles), it was time to return to the Bachelor Bowl.
The ball Zach defeated The Shoal Crushers (great team names, by the way), Zach told Bailey he “wasn’t sure there was a future between us,” sending this suitor packing before the Rose Ceremony.
Christina Mandrell — who made it this season’s first single date, even visiting the bachelor’s childhood home to meet his family in the process — called the rejection “inevitable.”
This reaction did not go down well with the rest of the women.
“At this point, we’re all tired of Christina,” Charity noted on air. “For him to say that in a moment when someone is sent home is really horrible.”
Shortly after, Charity turns up on Zach’s group date – and things get even more awkward.
Everyone else congratulated Charity, but Christina spoke up and walked in the opposite direction:
“Um, I’m just honestly confused. Maybe I missed something. But I’m confused right now.
Added Kylie in the confessional:
“I’m like, ‘Shut up, bitch’
“Once again, Kristina was making it about herself and doesn’t respect any of our feelings. So, I think Zach needs to say something soon.”
At a later pool party, Brianna tells Zach that she wants to leave because “our connection never got a chance to get off the ground because I was going through tough times at home.”
To be more specific and edgy?
“A lot of the girls are struggling to be authentic because a lot of the girls in the house have had an intimidating and really hard time with this guy but to be honest I still feel comfortable sharing this with you Because I’m planning to go.
“That person is Christina.”
Shallcross had no chance here but to confront Christina.
“It has come to my notice that the women in the house have felt hurt and insecure because of you,” she told him. “I was shocked and I wanted to talk to you about that.”
Christina did her best to defend herself:
“I have been confronted by some girls.
“I rub people the wrong way. I’m outgoing and capable of being happy and vigorous.
“A lot of people are taking it for granted because I want to be the center of attention or I’m privileged in some way, or I’m more special or have a better relationship with you than other people because I’ve met your family.”
Kristina begs Zach to “help me, help me, help me” before screaming during a confessional statement.
“I’m a lot,” she admitted. “I didn’t intentionally hurt anyone. I don’t know how to provide him with more clarity because I’m not good at it.
Zach observed at the rose ceremony how he “had to be careful and look at the bigger picture.”
So, with one last rose left, he decides to give it to Mercedes. instead Christina’s.
“It hurts right now,” Christina said of being sent home.
“Zach blew me away. I hoped I’d like him, but not as much as I did so fast… I was myself and I hope he finds his person. Sadly, it’s me.” I am not
