WWE planning a title change at WrestleMania 39

WWE is reportedly planning to crown new tag team champions at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.

The tag team division in WWE has been hot of late, with The Usos’ storied title reign possibly coming to an end due to the dysfunction surrounding The Bloodline. Lita and Becky Lynch recently captured the Women’s Tag Team Championship from Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL on RAW.

Damage CTRL didn’t defend the tag titles for a couple of months leading up to last Monday’s RAW, but it looks like WWE wants to rebuild the division on the road to WrestleMania.

According to Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer of wrestling spotter radio, the company plans to crown the new Women’s Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium.

Bryan Alvarez pointed out that Ronda Rousey aggravated a non-serious injury and will soon return to action. Dave Meltzer said that the company expects Rousey and Shayna Baszler to win the titles at WrestleMania.

“From what I understand, she is [Ronda Rousey] limited [and] He will probably be out and exactly how much he will recover when he fights again is unknown. But the hope is that they [Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey] will continue to win the tag team titles at WrestleMania. That was the original idea. That remains the hope,” Dave Meltzer said. Ronda Rousey recently broke character at a WWE live event

Ronda Rousey currently plays a badass character on SmackDown, but it seems she recently broke character at a recent WWE live event.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet was set to team up with Shayna Baszler for a match against Natalya and Tegan Nox. Rousey had fun before the bell rang and ran around the ring as the referee gave chase.

Rousey lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair on the final episode of the blue brand in 2022. She did not attempt to regain the lost crown from The Queen and did not participate in the women’s Royal Rumble. Instead, she has focused on her tag team with Shayna Baszler.

It will be interesting to see how the potential tag team of Rousey and Baszler plays out in the near future.

Wait! Austin Theory just spilled the beans about a great WrestleMania debut here.
