Jessica Simpson once sang that her shoes were made for walking.
As it turns out, the singer also has some tea that is made for spilling.
In a new short story written for Amazon Original Stories, Movie Star, Simpson tells for the first time about an affair she had with, well, a married movie star many years ago.
However, she never names the person.
“This is a very personal story and I really thought I would never share it!” the 42-year-old told People Magazine in promotion of the piece.
“The whole period was very surreal.
“At times I had a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong!
“But at times it felt isolating because I’m someone who likes to connect deeply with people and I didn’t know who was trustworthy and who wasn’t.”
The Dukes of Hazzard revealed that he met his unnamed celebrity girlfriend at Jennifer Lopez’s 2001 VMA after-party while she was on a break from her first boyfriend, Nick Lachey.
She didn’t know at the time that the boy was spoken for
But after an intense first kiss, Simpson looked at photos of her boyfriend and his then-girlfriend on the red carpet.
“I never in a million years wanted to be the other woman,” she now says, expressing that the movie star assured her that their relationship was “completely over” and that he only had eyes for her. Was
Nevertheless, Simpson continued to mingle with celebrities.
She also describes how meeting him on the set of her film made her feel like she was only there to “have sex” with the mystery man.
“Yes, there was something sexy and seductive about all of this, but there was also something humiliating about it,” says Jessica.
“I felt like a call girl. I didn’t care if it was my teenage fantasy come to life, it wasn’t an option that that same girl, my younger self, would be proud of.
Simpson has regrets, yes. But he also learned some valuable life lessons from this affair.
“Not deceiving your heart and lowering your self-worth actually feels so much better than the instant gratification of living in a lie,” she continued.
“I also learned that there is a wide range of what monogamy means in Hollywood!”
Simpson is now married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has children Maxwell, 10, Ace, 9, and Birdie, 3.
Simpson said, “I’ve learned that self-love is one of the keys to truly loving someone else and that a true love will never let you question yourself or what’s real.”
“Thanks to my amazing partner and husband, I am able to love passionately without fear of getting hurt.”
