For the past several years, ratings for the Teen Mom franchise have been on a steep decline, and women who have been with those shows since their inception are probably starting to worry about their future employment.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer went out gating well, and the couple’s decision to bail on MTV in 2020 is looking better every day.

The first episode of Chelsea and Cole’s show received huge ratings.
To put it in perspective, almost twice as many people watched down home fab premiered as the latest episode of Teen Mom: Family Reunion,
Of course, it’s too early to start celebrating, because premieres can be deceiving.
Network executives may have been bracing themselves for the possibility that viewers dropped in out of curiosity and weren’t happy with what they saw.
But then, something remarkable happened – the second episode of Down Home Fab garnered even higher ratings.
In fact, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup report, the show is the top non-news, non-sports cable show in two very important demographics: women ages 25-54, and “upscale” women 25-54.
(The latter is one of the most iconic demos among them.)
Now, in a relatively rare move, HGTV has announced a mid-season renewal, which means Chelsea and Cole will soon be back to work. down home fab season 2!
“Chelsea and Cole’s undeniable on-screen chemistry and enthusiasm for innovation bring millions of fans to HGTV’s platform each week,” Lauren Ruch, HGTV’s head of content, wrote in a press release issued earlier this week.
“We can’t wait to get the ball rolling on a new season, and in the meantime we’ve got three upcoming episodes and much more digital content with this dynamic couple.”
We don’t know much about Chelsea and Cole’s contract with the network, but you can bet it’s a lucrative contract.
After all, these two are on the verge of becoming HGTV’s newest breakout stars.
If you’re a fan of home renovation reality shows, you probably know that HGTV produces several original series.
so the fact that down home fab Having the biggest numbers for any new show on the network since May of 2022 is a really big deal.
We probably don’t need to tell you that most reality stars rise to the top quickly, and when the show that made them famous goes down, their careers decline.
But Chelsea and Cole are bucking the trend in a major way.
