Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja criticized Shoaib Akhtar for his disparaging comments towards Kamran Akmal and Babar Azam. He observed that such things would never happen in India and advised Akhtar that he be “human first”.
Akhtar grabbed the spotlight after he criticized Babar’s communication skills and called for him to be as big a brand as Virat Kohli. The Rawalpindi Express mocked Kamran Akmal’s English during a live TV show, specifically the pronunciation of the word ‘screen’.
Speaking on a local TV channel, the 60-year-old expressed his dissatisfaction that former Pakistan players were making fun of current ones, calling Akhtar ‘delusional’.
“Our ex-players demean our brand of cricket by making delusional statements. You will never see that happen in our neighboring country. You will never see Sunil Gavaskar criticizing Rahul Dravid. It only happens in Pakistan where ex-players don’t let others do their thing.” I work professionally.”
added:
“Shoaib Akhtar is a delusional superstar. He also had a problem recently with Kamran Akmal. He wants everyone to become a brand, but it’s more important to become human first. Human first, then brand.”
When asked about Akhtar’s aspirations to become PCB chairman, the former Pakistan opener feels he must first get a postgraduate degree.
Ramiz Raja was recently sacked as PCB Chairman
Meanwhile, Raja was sacked as PCB chairman in December following the national team’s Test series loss at home to England. Najam Sethi succeeded him in office; however, he continued to consider him unfit for the same.
The cricket regime headed by Ramiz Raja @iramizraja it’s no more. The 2014 PCB constitution is restored. The Management Committee will work tirelessly to revive first-class cricket. Thousands of cricketers will be employed again. The cricket famine will come to an end.
The 60-year-old has also come under scrutiny for saying Pakistan will boycott the 2023 World Cup in India if India does not come to play the Asian Cup in Pakistan. His compatriot Wasim Akram commented that one should not handle things this way.
