Earlier this month, we reported on a surprising development concerning convicted child sex predator Josh Duggar.
It looks like Josh has been put in solitary confinement after being busted for flagrantly breaking prison rules.
Duggar was caught with a cell phone that was apparently on her behalf while she was in jail.
Needless to say, inmates are not expected to send texts or download apps, and Josh’s violation of policy was met with swift retribution.
Now it looks like Josh will spend many months In solitude
Not surprisingly, this situation has left many observers with a lot of questions.
And no one is demanding answers louder than Amy Duggar.
Amy is Josh’s cousin, but she has long been one of his most vocal critics.
Earlier this week, Amy was joined by her mother, Dianna, for a video in which they attempted to get to the bottom of the latest Josh scandal.
“Hi, okay, so we have some questions from the prison that caught Josh,” Amy said in the clip above.
“Jail,” corrected his mother.
“One, how did he get the cell phone? Give…” Amy moved on.
“What was he looking at?” Dina asked.
It’s an unpleasant one to contemplate, but it’s an important question to ask.
Eventually, Josh is in prison for child pornography.
He still won’t be able to access the internet without monitoring when he’s released around 2032 – but he was able to use a smart phone while behind bars?
This is a troubling thought.
“I don’t even want to know. Three, what did he do to get the cell phone?” Amy continued:
“And four, what was the fourth?” Dina asked.
“Who gave her the cell phone?” Amy echoed.
Now, even though Amy and her mom haven’t named any suspects, the implication is clear.
Josh’s wife, Anna Duggar, has been his only frequent visitor in the eight months since he was transferred to a federal prison in Seagoville, Texas.
Many commenters on Amy’s post have jumped to the conclusion that she was making accusations unintentionally — and they’re probably right.
“I saw Orange Is the New Black. I know what he did to get a cell phone…” wrote one commenter.
“My money is on Anna. If he told her to do it, I think she would obey,” said another.
“A lot of illegal stuff can happen in prison for the right amount of commissioner or something similar. It’s really not that complicated,” said a third.
“I’m really curious who he was talking to that didn’t want to appear in the public log.”
Others wondered what kind of long-term effects this incarceration might have for Josh.
“Isn’t he allowed technology? I hope this lengthens his sentence!” suggested one person.
It is unlikely that the phone incident will result in a long sentence, but it could prevent Josh from meeting the “good behavior” requirements that would enable him to qualify for release in 2032.
Josh is currently appealing his sentence, and his attorney was in court for a preliminary hearing next week.
So it’s possible he’ll be a free man much earlier than expected — but thankfully, legal experts say the odds are not in Josh’s favor.
