Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in its beta phase for years, and Larian Studios continues to develop the game with constant player feedback in mind.
However, Sony’s recent State of Play event was quite influential for fans who were patiently waiting for official confirmation of the RPG’s release.
The event provided a short trailer for the game while also revealing the release date of August 31, 2023. Larian Studios also confirmed that while the title was initially confirmed for PC and MAC operating systems only, the RPG is now will make his appearance. on the way to the PlayStation 5.
Along with the console launch, the developers have also revealed split-screen co-op multiplayer features. Players can enjoy the title with their friends on the same device. Baldur’s Gate 3 will also allow for cross-platform progression, with fans being able to transfer their saves across PC, MAC, and PlayStation 5.

With Baldur’s Gate 3 finally having its official release date set for August 31, 2023, fans of Larian Studios can now breathe a sigh of relief as it is confirmed that the game will no longer be stuck in “development hell”.
Along with the PlayStation 5 launch announcement and the implementation of split-screen co-op, the developers have also announced the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition of the title.
Both are available for pre-order, and those who opt for Digital Deluxe can enjoy the Dungeons and Dragons OST digital artbook and character sheet, which contains the original characters from Baldur’s Gate 3.
Those who pre-order the edition can also try the RPG in early access. However, the developers have yet to announce the details of the early access dates.
Those who wish to purchase the Baldur’s Gate Collector’s Edition will enjoy everything that is available in the Digital Deluxe Edition. However, they will also be able to get hold of some physical collectibles, such as a cloth map, an art book and a statue of a mind flayer and a battle between drow.
The Collector’s Edition of the game will cost $270, which is pretty steep; however, for big fans of Larian titles, the physical collectibles seem like a worthwhile investment.
