Families appeal ruling upholding Boeing’s plea agreement for 737 Max crashes (NYSE:BA)

Relatives of victims who died in two Boeing (New York Stock Exchange:BA) The 737 Max plane crashes on Thursday appealed a US judge’s denial of their request to dismiss or change a deferred prosecution agreement between the planemaker and the US Department of Justice, Reuters reported.

The January 2021 agreement gave Boeing (BA) legal immunity from criminal prosecution on charges of fraud conspiracy in connection with the faulty design of the plane. Boeing had to pay $2.5 billion in fines and damages to the government, to airlines that couldn’t fly the 737 Max, and to a fund for the families of the victims.
