Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no strangers to bad press.
Harry’s had a target on his back since the day he was born, and Meghan has been the international tabloid press’ favorite punching bag for seven years now.
But these days, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing a far more intimidating adversary than any of the tweed blazer-clad vultures populating the British media landscape.
We’re talking about Eric Cartman.
Yes, you’ve probably heard about it by now South Park Episode based on Harry and Meghan.
OK, to be fair, the story actually centered around “the Prince of Canada and his wife,” who happened to look a lot like Harry and Meghan.
The episode featured the royal doppelgangers campaigning for privacy, ironically waving picket signs and going on talk shows to complain about the media’s constant intrusion into their lives.
At one point, the Canadian prince even rocked his memoir – a book strikingly similar to Harry’s Excessive – Officer Wow,
Needless to say, the episode wasn’t exactly kind to Harry and Meghan.
but by South Park standard, it wasn’t particularly brutal either.
Harry and Meghan are accustomed to a lot of bullying from the more influential, some of whom effectively pose as legitimate journalists.
In other words, if Harry and Meghan even knew about it South Park Katar, they’ve probably already outgrown it.
So yes the rumors that the Sussexes are devastated and plans to sue are almost certainly invention of – you guessed it! – British tabloid media.
Journalist and royal expert Neil Sean told Fox News this week, “It appears that, like so many things with Meghan and Harry, there may be legal ramifications attached to this, according to sources close to the ex-royals.”
“His legal team is looking into this episode to see what went wrong, and whether there could be something more sinister.”
Sean is trying to make it sound like Harry and Meghan have a team of lawyers through the episode for any scene or line of dialogue that could be construed as threatening or defamatory.
To be clear, this is almost certainly not happening.
For one thing, these two have enough media savvy to know that if they were offended by the episode, the best thing they could have done was bring more attention to it with a high-profile lawsuit. .
On top of that, the Sussexes have enough legal drama in their lives with the latest frivolous lawsuit against Samantha Markle’s sister.
But the biggest reason Harry and Meghan won’t be suing is because of the way they’ve been portrayed in the press, these two are actually known for having a sense of humor about themselves.
they probably wouldn’t have been hysterical about it South Park episode, but we’re sure he’s developed very strong emotional calluses from years of very bad treatment.
