Josh Duggar is trying to get Caleb Williams convicted of his sex crimes; This is why the strategy can work

Josh Duggar’s legal team was back in court last week, and the reason their appearance should terrify us all.

Josh is appealing against his 2021 conviction on child pornography charges.

And last week’s hearing may have brought him one step closer to his goal of overturning his conviction, thus enabling the 34-year-old to leave prison nearly a decade ahead of schedule.

The attorneys’ efforts to get the original verdict overturned have already failed, so they have now focused their efforts on the goal of securing a second trial for Josh.

They claim that the result of the first test is invalid for two main reasons:

Josh was not allowed contact with his attorney while federal agents raided his office, and investigators failed to rule out the possibility that Josh was framed for his crimes by a family friend named Caleb Williams. .

Williams, also a convicted sex offender, spent 62 days in prison and 18 months on probation for having a child with a minor.

Duggar’s attorney said prosecutors “failed to prove Mr. Duggar guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by failing to rule out Mr. Williams as an alternate culprit.”

Williams did some unspecified freelance IT work for Josh’s used car in 2019, and Duggar’s lawyers claim he used the opportunity to download child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

But Williams says he can prove he was not in Arkansas when the material was downloaded.

Williams claims he was traveling through Missouri on the specified day in May 2019.

They also say they have evidence to this effect, including a receipt from a St. Louis Apple store.

according to a new report from spyJosh’s attorneys stated that they intended to explore the Williams angle if Josh was granted a second trial, and that they were frustrated by the fact that the previous judge had not allowed them to do so.

“I’m disappointed. I’m hurt. It’s very hurtful. And I have to stop myself sometimes and not be angry,” Williams said during the first trial.

He added that he hopes Duggar gets professional help for her “sexually deviant” behavior.

“But I’m not going to sit there and let her control my life,” he said.

“He did some really bad things.”

Other focuses of Josh’s appeal include claims that federal agents would not allow him contact with his attorney during the initial raid at his workplace.

it looks like josh’s phone Was It was taken away from him during the raid, but Department of Homeland Security agents say they did so on purpose to search the device for objectionable material, while not stopping Josh from making calls.

In any event, if Josh feels he is being denied the opportunity to obtain legal advice, this may be grounds for a new lawsuit.

And a new test means there’s a chance — however slim it may be — that Josh Duggar will soon be a free man.
