If we think till the end of 2021, then 90 Day Fiancé: The Second Way Season 3 Tell All was airing.
It was then that viewers got to hear about Alina and Steven Johnson’s ongoing problems. No, marriage didn’t make their issues go away overnight.
But the two kept posting about each other throughout the 2022 holiday season. This suggests that they were still together after more than a year. So they’re good, right?!
Wrong, Not only have they gone radio silent on each other in recent months, but they’ve also dramatically unfollowed each other on Instagram. Yes!
we know that 90 Day Fiancé: The Second Way Season 4 is already underway and it has been going on for over a year now. So, understandably, some fans May A refresher is needed.
Steven Johnson spent a lot of time abroad as a Mormon missionary. He learned a lot of Russian during that time and made friends.
The primary purpose of such missionary work is to give missionaries an adversarial relationship with the world beyond the faith. But when Steven and Russian beauty Alina fall in love, he hopes to convert her to the LDS Church.
But there were issues in Turkey even before the two were united (due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they could not visit each other’s countries).
For one thing Alina is a young woman. He displayed signs of (age-appropriate) immaturity. His family was worried about him. (Especially his mother, who clearly believes in far-fetched theories.)
And for another…Steven is a little weird. He has impulse-control issues. Attractive? Perhaps. But also a potential deal-breaker for any relationship.
But there were bigger issues at play.
See, Steven wanted to wait until he was married to Alina, who had never had sex, before they slept together. Alina, naturally sensual, apparently agreed only for her own benefit.
She sat there studying the Book of Mormon because he wanted her to convert. But then he came to know the truth about her.
Steven, the guy who wants to wait until marriage? He had already done some bonding in his day.
It turns out that his impulse control issues are about more than just climbing trees and jumping into pools fully clothed.
Basically, it seems like if a girl was flirty enough with him, he’d trade her off before she even knew it. He would like Fine… except that it goes against the orthodoxy of the religious organization he belongs to.
And except that Alina didn’t like to find out. because, well, He That was stopping them from having a relationship before marriage.
(There are several solid arguments why it’s a good idea to test for sexual compatibility before making any commitments, but ultimately it’s a personal choice. Steven has every right to wait.)
For Alina, it basically felt like someone eating a piece of cake and then announcing that no one is allowed dessert tonight. Inappropriate. And it made him question his future allegiance as much as it did his friends for failing their “test”.
Another major concern was Alina’s plans to convert to Mormonism.
He told her that she would be baptized in his church, but worried that she would change her mind.
Viewers couldn’t help but notice that Steven seemed very insistent about Elena making specific choices about her body and beliefs. In contrast, and after his failed tests, his request to delete social media was arguably less dramatic.
But he got married. Steven also brought some stray cats (stray cats are a cultural staple of Turkey) which he fed at the wedding.
At the same time, Alina had assured people on social media that their relationship is very good. Things we didn’t see on screen.
Of course, in Tell All, viewers learned that Steven was once again engaging with thirsty fans on social media. Besides, he wanted a threesome with Alina. Which, hey, threesomes are great… but only if everyone involved wants one.
Despite living in different countries for so long of their marriage, Steven and Alina continued to rave about each other on social media. And, in the 2022 holiday season, he posted lovey-dovey content.
And… they haven’t posted about each other since. they have now unfollow For each other, which is a big deal even just for classmates, let alone for an actual married couple.
90 Day Fiancé Blogger John Yates said on February 14, 2023 to unfollow it on Instagram. Valentine’s Day is an especially awkward day for a couple’s issues to go public.
It is possible that only one of them has unfollowed. If you block someone, they automatically unfollow you. This can be a one sided move.
But it looks like Alina (who deserves better) and Steven (who has nice hair when he lets it grow out) are at least having a marital struggle.
Given the months of silence prior to this, it is possible that this is more than just a controversy. is it over?
