.5BN drama-free franchise tipped as reason for Jeff Bezos ditching Washington Commanders bid

Uncertainty continues to plague the future of the Washington Commanders. The franchise, which has now been put up for sale by owner Dan Snyder, continues to search for suitable offers to see a change of ownership.

One name that was frequently linked to a franchise move was Jeff Bezos. However, the Amazon founder never launched an official offer and it was recently reported that he has now dropped out of the running to take over the capital-based outfit.

However, an interesting development seems to suggest that Bezos has turned his attention elsewhere. According to a Washington Post report, this time it’s an NFC West Side he’s considering buying.

One source reported that the Seattle Seahawks are a team Bezos could definitely consider in the future:

“Bezos knows that Seattle is sitting there.”

This isn’t the first time the Amazon billionaire has been linked with a bid for the Seahawks. Reports surfaced earlier in the year that Bezos was interested in buying the franchise if a move for the Commanders didn’t materialize.

Buying the Seattle-based franchise would be a much more convenient option for Bezos. With the franchise valued at nearly $1.5 billion cheaper than the Commanders, it could definitely save a ton of money.

Other than that, Commanders’ turbulent behind-the-scenes history is something most new owners would try to avoid.

Rockets owner claims commanders turned down $5.6 billion offer

Dan Snyder isn’t letting his beloved franchise come cheap. He reportedly set the team’s valuation at $6 billion and doesn’t plan to budge when it comes to securing a sale.

Recently, Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta revealed that the property had turned down a $5.6 billion offer.

Tilman Fertitta said during an interview with @CNBC today that he offered $5.6 billion for the Commanders, but “at some point you have to draw a line in the sand.” https://t.co/7NpKM1Fb4X

The NFC East team has several other issues to deal with through this long-running ownership dispute. With fans desperate for a change, Snyder has named the price of him to take the team off his hands.
